A treatise in three parts of ten — Otsar, Eden and Ganuz — written, Abulafia says, to make wise those who fear the Name and think on His name alone, and completed in Messina for his student R. Saadia, as a memorial of what he had learned before him. He names it after its three parts. Otsar follows Sefer Yetsirah, from the ten sefirot to the twelve simple letters; Eden sets out the secret of intercalation — new moons and seasons, fixings and postponements, and the months, portions and festivals whose signs he builds on his own name, נתחדש על פי אברהם; Ganuz speaks of names, of the letters of the Explicit Name and the hidden names, up to the secret of the true action that changes the nature of the parts of creation by the power of speech. After the thirty parts he adds a seal within a seal, so that the book's parts make thirty-two paths of wondrous wisdom; there he tells who brought him this far, and the seven ways in which every verse is read.
