Sefer ha-Yashar · ספר הישר

A commentary on Sefer ha-Yashar, the first book Raziel wrote in the form of prophecy, and the sixth and last of the author's commentaries. Raziel, it says, called it Sefer ha-Yashar, whose secret is "a Name, an upright song, a prayer", after the deed he named the Name of the Serpent; in it he is called by his first name, Berakhyahu ben Shelaviel. Going through the book not in order but by leaps, the commentary takes up the places Raziel lists, from Tsarfat and Sefarad to Dibon and Akko, whose hidden intent is the organs of the body; the vision in which he attained the secret of the Name and the secret of prophecy; and the four words with which he sealed his book, the four-letter Name at their head: the knowledge of the Messiah and the wisdom of the Redeemer. At its end the author speaks a little of the secret of prophecy, meaning to complete the matter in Hotam ha-Haftarah, a seal to Raziel's six books.
